Neurodivergent-Affirming Clinical Supervision

Dr. Tanya Johnson is a highly experienced mental health counselor, supervisor, and professor who enjoys mentoring new clinicians in developing a career that balances their wellbeing with their clients’ needs.

Dr. Tanya is licensed in both Florida and Washington, and can supervise therapists seeking either LMHC or LMFT licenses. She also sees licensed therapists for career mentoring or case consultation.

Neurodivergent therapists often burn out quickly, especially in high demand settings like community mental health, or group practices with high caseload requirements. Often, they require the autonomy of private practice in order to find an equilibrium with the demanding work of therapy and their own personal needs.

Supervision with Dr. Tanya involves clinical skill development, advising in legal and ethical requirements for licensing, career development support, and a strong emphasis on maintaining awareness of your personal limits and needs in order to build a sustainable and rewarding career.

If you’re an associate clinician in Washington state interested in starting a private practice, or seeking community support in private practice, you may be interested in joining Dr. Tanya’s collective, Colorful Minds Psychotherapy Collective.
